Where have you been hiding all this beautiful artwork! I see some more pieces that I am intersted in buying! I have some wonderful memeories coming to your house in Coleville when we were little kids. I always loved going downstairs with you and looking at all the art you had been working on. I fondly remember the time you came to our house up north and we painted a still life picture and gave each other our copies. Now I get the joy of bringing my children over to your studio at the lake to see you work. Perhaps they can spend one day next summer working together with you on some pottery or painting. Each day I think of you because I have the paintings that I got at our reunion and this summer in my living room.

We love you Auntie Jean.

I've known Jean Humphrey for about 10 years and her life is told in her art. She didn't have to tell me that she spent most of her life on a farm as it was told in her art with her repeated images of wagon wheels and horses and swather tarps. Her deep love for her rural life and her spritual connection to the scriptures was profound in her images. It was easy to understand that she has a deep love for God. All of these things told us who Jean is and we certainly felt her gentleness and caring. I thank Jean for her friendship and her devotion for her art.

What a delightful, inspiring website, revealing to the worldwide web a lady who knows who she is. Jean knows how to go deep within herself to find the Creative Spirit and then uses that talent to help others see and experience the Spirit. Jean is not just an artist but a very Spiritual person finding the Divine in all things. Thanks Jean for your hugs and friendship..and one more thing... I never go to DQ witbout remembering you and Calvin enjoying an ice cream treat. Hugs.. Marj Mack

I am deeply touched by how Jean Humprey can express the Prairie life in her creations. Her eye for details -- those things that are often missed by the eye -- are wonderful. Great work Jean! Your Heart promotes and Stimulates our Hearts as well... thank you for your contribution to our world!

I have always enjoyed Jean Humphrey's art. The pictures she took out in the country should be familiar to everyone and she seems to capture the beauty of a run down old building or fence and you look at it differently in her pictures. You see it as a work of art!

What an amazing collection -- honoring a truly inspiring woman! It's wonderful to see all your beautiful art in one place, where it can be enjoyed by all. Thanks so much for sharing this with us Grama.

Aristotle said that "the aim of art is not to represent the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance." This is why your work is brilliant to me, Mom -- you've always had the ability to capture the true essence of all things. And yes, as with much in life, the untrained critic's eye will seek familiarity and the mundane -- details and lines so specific they cannot be differentiated from a photograph. But to those who truly embrace art, at its deepest level, they will recognize the greatness of your work by the feeling that it conveys. It is here in your craft that you rise to stellar heights.

Bravo!

To me, Jean's art is a true extension and expression from her self out of her life, not contrived or sensational. It comes from a real woman who is true to her self and others; a lady, fun, generous, uplifting and committed to what is important to her. I'm glad she has been a part of my life and an influence to my own art.

The way your face lights up when you talk about your art is inspiring. Nothing makes me happier than that. It's obvious how much you love what you do, by the time and dedication spent working on a piece. You excitement is palpable when you find something new to create. You are a creator of beauty Grandma! In many ways...

Jean Humphrey is an artist of great humanity and depth. I have always been struck by her drive to explore new materials, techniques and subject matter. I suppose that is true of most great artists. However, these qualities are core to her person as well; she is a treasure - a woman who reaches out to others and the world around her, and instead of merely showing us another perspective, she helps us see hers.

Congratulations Jean on being true to your creative self for so many years - you have a plethora of work to show for it and how wonderful that it will all come together on your website. Jean I have admired your work from the first time I saw some of it and am a proud owner of three of your pieces. You have been such a support to our Perspective Art group and personally an inspiration to me. I strive to emulate your spontaneity, I have come to the conclusion it is inherent and comes from within. It has been truly a gift to become your friend. You have shown dignity and grace - how many times have I told you -"When I grow up I want to be like you" Love from your friend, Bonnah
